We (Bob Boilen and Michael Barron) have been writing and playing music together since we met nearly 30 years ago (god that’s scary). It was there in Washington, DC that we formed Tiny Desk Unit.

Danger Painters formed as a bicoastal music making project, Michael on the left, Bob on the right. In 2010 Michael Barron moved to NYC and though we’re closer we still make most of our music by sending ideas back and forth digitally.

We make music during the course of the year but come February we start and finish an entire album from scratch. February 2011 we made our 4th Danger Painters record called IV, like what grows on a vine or drips from a hospital bag. We had help again from our old friend WilliamX Harvey.
